Tanooki Labs

A team that gives a $#!*

We're a Brooklyn-based software consultancy with 12+ years of experience building products people love. We care deeply about the work — and about the people we work with.

Our story

Tanooki Labs was founded by Eric Skiff and Dave Renz after their time together at QLabs, an AOL Ventures incubator. We've been building software together for over a decade — and we still love it.

We believe that building great software requires passion and curiosity, backed up by a holistic skillset and methodical process. That belief shows up in everything we do: how we hire, how we communicate, and how we build.

We hire creative, hard-working, super-unique people who are dedicated to our clients' success. Then we get out of their way.

Passionate

We're genuinely excited about the work. If you're excited about your product, we will be too.

Transparent

Radical transparency is our default. You'll always know where things stand, what we're uncertain about, and what we need from you.

Partnership

We're not a vendor — we're a partner. Your success is our success. We work best with clients who feel the same way.

Curious

Technology keeps moving. So do we. Our team is constantly exploring new tools, frameworks, and approaches so you don't have to.

The partnership in action

Tanooki Labs brought their passion and commitment to the process. Every week I looked forward to reviewing the progress — it felt like working with a co-founder, not a contractor.

The team at Tanooki has been instrumental in our overall product strategy. They didn't just build what we asked for — they helped us figure out what to build.
